LED vs LCD

If you are considering the purchase of a new television, you will undoubtedly have to decide between an LED TV and an LCD TV.

As many would come to expect, the great LED vs LCD debate has now emerged as a highly talked about topic among experts and consumers alike. While some experts consider LED televisions to be far superior in all aspects to LCD televisions, others believe that LED televisions are nothing more than a gimmick with the only difference between the two being the style, design, and overall thickness.

When considering the experts’ opinions regarding the LED vs LCD debate, it is a challenging task to determine which of the two groups is right. In fact, they both seem to have legitimate points in their arguments, and honestly, what it may boil down to is how much space a consumer has in their residence, and how much they are willing to spend. Those are both very important considerations to think about when buying a television, and are, for the most part, much more clear cut than trying to determine if LED televisions produce a high quality picture than LCD televisions, or if LCD televisions have better built-in sound than LED televisions.

Although the LED vs LCD debate may not produce a truly defined winner, it is important to closely examine both technologies, and to compare and contrast them with each other. As the television technology race heats up, 3DTV has become a focal point, and can be found in both LED and LCD televisions. Furthermore, companies are spending more and more on their marketing budgets, making the decision even less clear cut for the average customer.

With that being said, there are some things to consider when choosing between an LED TV and an LCD TV. The LED vs LCD debate cannot be judged on one area alone, as there are many factors involved. First and foremost, one should consider the picture quality of each. Both the contrast and black levels are items of interest with respect to picture. Color accuracy and viewing angles are two other critical aspects of picture quality. If you are into green energy, then you will most likely be interested in the differences in power consumption in the LED vs LCD debate. Sports fans, movie fanatics, and hardcore video gamers may want to consider the differences in response time and refresh rate. Those looking to use their television as a computer monitor may want to know if either of the two technologies is better suited for their needs. Lastly, regardless of how you are going to use your new television, you probably would like to know what would be the best in terms of longevity when comparing LED vs LCD.

With all those factors considered, it is also important to point out that not all manufacturers are considered equal. A low-end off-brand LED television may not compare to a high-end Samsung LED television. The same can be said about LCD TVs. When all is said and done, if you are considering the LED vs LCD debate when buying a television, you are in for a tough decision, and in the end, may just want to look for the best discount or deal!

Bike Safety: The urgent need of the times

Bikes are the most popular vehicles these days and they are having many benefits and advantages to offer to the drivers. The passionate drive and the enthusiasm that are offered by the bikes are unparallel. The bikes are popular since many decades and these days the bike driving has become more favorite drive for the youths as they are offering better strength and style to get passed on to the drivers.

But, this bike driving is dangerous also if the rules and regulation of driving are not followed properly. Even slow riding a cruiser bike could be as dangerous as riding a professional high-speed road bike.The bike accident cases are increasing rapidly. It is said that the chances of getting hazardous accidents of bikes is nine times more than the chance in the cars. The Bikes are having no roof and no support which forces the bike owner to get alert all the time. Here are some of the safety features that need to get followed as bikes are carriers of speeds to the desired destinations not to the heavens.

f:id:william996:20170719233618j:plain

* The safety guards

He helmet wearing is one of the most essential need of getting over to the bikes. Till 1970, the bike drivers were never serious about wearing the helmets but after this decade the awareness towards helmet wearing has increased dynamically. The helmets can cover the part of head which is the most delicate part of the body and also the most important ones. The cells in the minds are more fragile to get hurt and therefore the helmet wearing should be compulsory for the bike drivers.

* The speed limits

The bikes are having unlimited fun and therefore the people go for the unlimited speeds. These speeds can become the last destinations of lives as it is happening to thousands of lives daily in the world. No speed is more enjoyable than lives and therefore the speeds should be controlled with greater care and concerns. The speed limit tools should be fitted in the bikes in order to get the lives saved.

* The maintenance

It is quite important to maintain the condition of bikes by regularly checking the status of the bikes. The brakes are the major component involved in the accident cases of bikes as the bike are running in the speeds and if the brakes are not properly maintained, the chances of accidents increase with higher chances.

These are some of the most important safety concerns and are having aggressive and attacking approach of getting the safer driving of bikes.

The Sims (PS2)

The PS2 version comes with two single player game play modes: the first is the standard open game play mode from the PC version, which gives you the freedom to make your sim family what you will and move them along at your own pace and in your own direction.

f:id:william996:20170704233858j:plain
The second mode is a level-based mode, aptly called “Get a Life”. In this mode, you are given a set of preset goals that must be completed before being able to move on to successive levels, with better homes and higher standards of living

The open mode is unlocked after you complete the “Dream House” tutorial at the beginning of the level-based mode. In the open mode, you start out with an unnamed neighborhood. It becomes your task to name and populate this neighborhood. From there on you are free to live your sim’s life any way you chose. Though the point of the game is to make a life for your sim, in the open-mode there are no rules to what your sims do or who they become. Do what you want.

f:id:william996:20170704233905j:plain
The level-based game is somewhat different, however. You start out at what can arguably be considered the lowest of the low in life. Your character is living with their grumpy, lazy and elderly mother in a dilapidated and filthy house, without a job and without skills. It then becomes your task to claw your way out of this miserable life and make a better existence for yourself. In each of the 7 levels of “Get a Life”, more items become available for purchase as you complete goals. Through a series of challenges and requirements of increasing difficulty, you can advance your sim to the next level where a whole new set of challenges await.

In both game modes, building, renovating, and improving yourself and your surroundings will present bigger and better things. Players are encouraged to increase their skills, which will make all other improvements possible. This can be done through reading, or by playing chess, painting, and working out.

f:id:william996:20170704233902j:plain
Another important task for players of The Sims is to keep your character fit, well fed, and rested. In the open mode, it is not as necessary to always see to it that you keep these levels secured. A level-based game will see to it that you stay on that path, however. Certain characters will taunt you and constantly remind you of what you need to do in order to make your life better. The level-based mode has a handy progress meter to keep you aware of how much you have left to do. Both modes have health meters to tell you what your sim needs, such as sleep or bathroom time.

You will see a bit of difference between the PS2 version and the PC graphically. The video game console version uses a new 3D system that presents a truly 3D world, as opposed to the PC version. The PS2 version also has a better camera system. Fans of the PC version will remember that the camera system was a bit awkward to adjust.

The new camera system is a notable improvement and moves very smoothly, allowing for much better zooms, scrolls, and rotations. There are also some new effects in the PS2 version, like an electrocution effect that happens should a sim mess with a broken TV without any mechanical skill. One negative is the tendency for interiors to be rather dim most of the time, even with ample windows.

f:id:william996:20170704233901j:plain
The PS2 version comes with two new multiplayer modes. The competitive mode pits two players against each other in races to see who can perform tasks faster. The cooperative mode allows two players to become partners, living a “sim”ulated life inside the game. This is a fun treat for actual couples to enjoy together.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4

After three successful Tony Hawk games, one would think that Neversoft, the series  development team, would eventually slip up.

The pressure is certainly on, as some gamers are again charging that the Tony Hawk games are the same old thing and that the series brings nothing new to the table.

f:id:william996:20170628020941j:plain

By the way, to experience the maximum immersion in the video game, to feel the effect of presence, I would recommend to run it on a curved 4k monitor.

After this latest game, it certainly seems that Neversoft has again managed to silence the critics by presenting a more open-ended game that provides challenges of all types, bigger levels, and more character interaction. It’s not quite perfect, but fans of the Tony Hawk series will most likely not be disappointed and new fans will certainly have more than their share of fun with this game.

It’s interesting to see some of the changes that the series has gone through since it began in 1999. The first game had only a few challenges to fulfill per level, and achieving and breaking high scores and big combos comprised the zen-like quality of the game. Tony Hawk 2 introduced the manual (or ground wheelie), which led to even bigger scoring potential and it also introduced collecting cash as an important objective as it was needed to increase stats and open new levels. Tony Hawk 3 backed away from collecting cash and instead was based more on accomplishing objectives  some of which were rather difficult  and hidden secrets which were unveiled by repeatedly beating the game.

Now, in Tony Hawk 4, cash collecting has come back and the number of objectives in each level is pretty astounding. Some of the old stand-by objectives return, such as collecting S-K-A-T-E and achieving a certain score within a certain time limit, but there are new challenge types, as well. Skitching (which is skateboarding while holding onto the back of a vehicle), collecting all five C-O-M-B-O letters within a single unbroken combo, and performing tricks as they are called out are just a few of the myriad of level objectives that Neversoft has put into Tony Hawk 4.

The Story of the First Lawn Mower

The first lawns of short grass were appeared in France, approximately 300 years ago, and then the other countries began to use over this experience. Obviously that the methods of maintaining lawns were inconsistent and inefficient. Lawns were first kept clean and tidy by having animals graze on the grass, or by the use of sickle, scythe, or shears to hand-cut the grass lawns.

Everything changed in the middle XIX century with invention of the lawn mower.

"MACHINE FOR MOWING LAWNS"

"Machine for mowing lawns, etc." - this was a description of the first patent for a lawn mover. It was granted by  Edwin Beard Budding on August 31, 1830 (England).

Edwin's design had a special cutting tool used for a uniform trimming of carpet.

That was something like reel-type mover with a series of blades arranged around a cylinde. The owner of Phoenix Foundry, John Ferrabee, first started to produce the Budding lawn mowers, for the Zoological Gardens in London.

1890's - Steam powered lawn mowers began to appear.

1902 - the first commercial mower with an internal combustion gasoline engine, was produced.

1919 - The first manufacture of gasoline powered lawn mowers in the US.

Despite on some improvements in mower technology, several companies are bringing back the old ways by using grazing goats as a low-cost alternative.

Nowadays, there is a wide range of push reel lawn mowers on the market, and each landscaping machine has its own peculiar features that condition its efficiency.

Here you can read about the differences between them.
